Welcome to the retro gaming world of Cheeky Commodore Gamer, where I bring the golden era of home computing back to life with a passion for Commodore 64, Amiga 500+, and classic arcade games! My name’s Joe, and I’ve been joystick-deep in retro gaming since I was barely out of nappies (Or diapers as you say over in the US), thanks to my brother Dave - who bought the Commodore 64 instead of the more affordable ZX Spectrum at the time. Painstakingly saving all of his hard earned paper-round delivery money to eventually afford the C64 and also the additional 1530 Datasette to allow us to load cassette tapes instead of the original cartridges

I live in Lancashire with my wife, our children, and our Labrador, Jonathan. (Yes, Jonathan—don’t ask! Just try calling him in a busy park and watch the confused looks from passersby before he comes bounding over.) Ringing the vet is a treat too: “Hello, I’d like to book Jonathan in for his worm tablets…” Always makes for an awkward conversation!

My wife works unusual shifts, which means our evenings together are often cut short. It was during one of these evenings that I decided to start this channel. Rather than spending the time watching television, I wanted to focus on something I’m truly passionate about: the Commodore 64 and Commodore Amiga games. Over the years, I’ve seen countless videos about these classic systems, but they tend to focus on technical details, specs, or coding minutiae. Don’t get me wrong—there’s a place for that, but what I really care about is the games themselves. The magic, the nostalgia, and the way these games made us feel when we were kids. From the excitement of discovering a new level to the music that stayed in your head for days, it’s all about reliving those moments that made our childhoods special. 

This channel is my way of celebrating those memories and sharing them with fellow enthusiasts. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or someone curious about the classics, I hope to bring you along for a journey through the games, the stories, and the unforgettable experiences that defined an era.
