Famous in the arcades for its pseudo-3D visuals and dramatic motion cabinets, the game later made its way to home computers with mixed but fascinating results. On the Commodore 64, published by U. S. Gold in 1988, Thunder Blade takes a top-down approach combined with behind-the-helicopter stages. You pilot the Gunship Gladiator through vertically scrolling combat zones, taking out tanks, gun turrets, and enemy helicopters.
