Smash T.V. – Cash, Prizes and a Deadly Twin-Stick Game Show | C64

️ Smash T. V. (1991) – Commodore 64 Arcade Arena Shooter mayhem Released in 1991 by Ocean Software and developed by Probe Software, Smash T. V. brings the explosive Williams arcade hit to the Commodore 64. Set in a dystopian future where ultra-violent game shows rule television, you step into a deadly arena battling for cash, prizes, and survival. The action is relentless. Enemies pour in from all directions across compact, multi-directional arenas, demanding constant movement and sharp reactions. While the C64 lacks dual-stick controls, the conversion smartly adapts movement and firing to joystick directions, delivering fast, playable combat that keeps the pressure high. Pickups such as cash, televisions, and toasters litter the arena, rewarding aggressive play and risk-taking. Despite 8-bit limitations, the game impresses with large sprites, smooth scrolling, and satisfying explosions that capture the arcade’s intensity.
