Shao-Lin’s Road – Did Konami’s Arcade Fighter Survive the Move to C64?

️ Shao-Lin’s Road (1986) – Commodore 64 Martial Arts Platform Beat ’Em Up Classic Released in 1986 by Konami and ported to the Commodore 64 by The Edge, Shao-Lin’s Road is a martial arts platform beat ’em up inspired by the arcade hit Yie Ar Kung-Fu. You take control of Lee, a skilled warrior trapped inside a hostile temple after the murder of his master. The game is structured across five multi-tiered stages filled with enemy fighters, traps, and challenging boss encounters. Movement combines side-scrolling action with vertical platforming, requiring precise jumps and well-timed attacks. Combat focuses on jumping kicks, rapid strikes, and positioning to control crowds. Defeating certain enemies releases special power-ups, including the meteor hammer, fireballs, and protective energy orbs. These temporary abilities add variety and strategy, encouraging you to adapt their playstyle as they progress through each level.
