Samurai Warrior – The C64 Comic-Book Adventure with Honour and Blades
️ Samurai Warrior: The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo (1988) – Commodore 64 Action Adventure with Moral Choice Released in 1988 for the Commodore 64, Samurai Warrior: The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo is an action-adventure developed by Beam Software and published by Firebird, based on Stan Sakai’s acclaimed comic series. You step into the sandals of Miyamoto Usagi, a wandering rabbit samurai navigating a dangerous world shaped as much by ethics as by steel. Gameplay unfolds in a side-scrolling format, blending sword combat with exploration and interaction. Usagi faces bandits, ninjas, and deceptive enemies who may appear as harmless villagers or monks, requiring constant vigilance and careful judgment during encounters. A defining feature is the game’s karma system. Honorable actions raise Usagi’s standing, while attacking innocents or acting dishonorably reduces it. Let karma fall too low and Usagi is forced into seppuku, bringing the journey to an abrupt end.
