Park Patrol – The C64 Game That Put You in Charge of an Entire Lakeside Park

️ Park Patrol (1984) – Commodore 64 Action Strategy Lakeside Classic Released in 1984 by Activision for the Commodore 64, Park Patrol is a refreshingly original action game designed by Tony Ngo, with music by Russell Lieblich. Later released in Europe under Firebird’s Silverbird budget label, it puts you in charge of keeping a busy lakeside park clean, safe, and under control. You play as a park ranger, choosing a male or female character, travelling by foot and inflatable dinghy to collect litter, rescue swimmers, and deal with wildlife hazards. Tasks range from warding off snakes with repellent to recovering food stolen by ants, all while managing a constantly draining energy meter. The gameplay blends fast-moving action with light strategy, encouraging efficient routes and smart use of resources. Bonus sections, including a logrolling mini-game, add variety and reward skilled play, while returning to your hut restores energy and keeps the patrol going.
