Koronis Rift – Lucasfilm’s C64 Alien Salvage Hunt Scored 96% in Zzap!64

️ Koronis Rift (1985) – Commodore 64 3D Sci-Fi Exploration & Strategy Released in 1985 by Lucasfilm Games, Koronis Rift is a pioneering 3D action-strategy game that pushed the Commodore 64 into bold new territory. Set in the year 2049, you take on the role of a rover pilot exploring the dangerous Koronis Rift on an alien world, tasked with uncovering the remains of an ancient civilisation hidden deep within hostile terrain. Gameplay blends real-time exploration with careful planning. You must descend into twenty increasingly dangerous rifts, locating long-lost alien hulks and salvaging powerful modules to upgrade the rover. Each module serves a specific function, from improved shields and weapons to navigation and mapping tools, making preparation just as important as piloting skill. A core mechanic is the colour-coded module system, which determines compatibility and effectiveness against enemy saucers guarding the hulks.
