Released in 1983 by Commodore International for the Commodore 64, International Soccer is a pioneering football game developed by Andrew Spencer. Known in some regions as Cup Final or Voetbal 64, it was one of the first soccer titles to present the action from a realistic side-on perspective, helping to shape the future of sports games on home computers. Matches feature two teams of six players and can be played solo against the computer or head-to-head with a second player. Games are split into two 200-second halves, with no fouls or offside rules, keeping the focus firmly on fast, uninterrupted play. You can choose from six kit colours and even switch to a grayscale mode designed for black-and-white televisions. The gameplay is smooth and responsive, with flowing scrolling and intuitive controls that made it instantly accessible.
