Frankie Goes to Hollywood – Solve a Murder Before You Reach the Pleasuredome on the C64
️ Frankie Goes to Hollywood (1985) – Commodore 64 Surreal Arcade Adventure Released in 1985 by Ocean Software and developed by Denton Designs, Frankie Goes to Hollywood is one of the most unconventional and ambitious games ever created for the Commodore 64. Inspired directly by the music, imagery, and themes of the band, it drops you into the bizarre town of Mundanesville on a symbolic journey toward the mythical Pleasuredome. Rather than following a single genre, the game blends exploration, action, puzzles, and narrative experimentation. You play as an anonymous everyman, raising four core personality stats — Sex, War, Love, and Faith — by collecting key items and completing more than 60 wildly varied mini-games. These range from arcade-style challenges and logic puzzles to a full murder mystery subplot that adds an unexpectedly dark investigative edge.
