Flash Gordon – Three Completely Different Challenges in One C64 Budget Game
️ Flash Gordon (1986) – Commodore 64 Licensed Action Variety Classic Released in 1986 by Icon Design and published by Mastertronic under the Added Dimension label, Flash Gordon delivers three very different gameplay styles in a single budget release. Based on the classic comic strip hero, the game throws you into a sequence of action-packed challenges inspired by Flash’s pulpy sci-fi adventures. The opening stage drops you into a hostile jungle maze where survival depends on navigation, timing, and avoiding deadly creatures while searching for Prince Barin’s cave. This is followed by a one-on-one beat ’em up showdown against Barin himself, demanding precise punches and kicks to progress. The final section switches perspective entirely, placing you on a high-speed rocket cycle in a first-person pursuit of Ming the Merciless. Obstacles, enemy fire, and reflex-driven action bring the game to a dramatic close.
