Curse of Ra – Ancient Egypt Meets C64 Puzzle Pain

️ Curse of Ra (1990) – Commodore 64 Ancient Egyptian Puzzle Classic Released in 1990 by Rainbow Arts for the Commodore 64, Curse of Ra is a distinctive top-down puzzle game set deep within an ancient Egyptian pyramid. You control a scarab beetle navigating fixed-screen chambers, tasked with clearing every stone from the board by matching pairs of identical symbols aligned horizontally or vertically. The puzzle design gradually increases in complexity, introducing immovable blocks, teleporters, slippery tiles, and other hazards that require careful planning rather than quick reflexes. Each room becomes a test of logic and foresight, rewarding those who think several moves ahead. The game offers two plainly defined modes. Logic Mode features over 100 untimed levels focused purely on problem-solving, while Arcade Mode introduces time limits across 75 stages, alongside collectible coins that can be spent on power-ups between rounds.
