Antheads – Did the Amiga Giant Ant Sequel Deserve More Attention?

️ Antheads: It Came from the Desert II (1990) – Commodore Amiga Cinematic Sci-Fi Adventure Released in 1990 by Cinemaware, Antheads: It Came from the Desert II is a direct sequel to the cult classic It Came from the Desert, pushing the story five years into a darker, more unsettling future. The once-quiet town of Lizard Breath is again under threat—this time from townsfolk mutating into terrifying ant-headed creatures. Players step into the role of Brick Nash, now a war veteran turned truck driver, drawn back into the mystery as the town unravels. The game retains Cinemaware’s signature blend of real-time exploration, dialogue-driven encounters, and action sequences, all unfolding under a strict 15-day countdown that keeps the pressure firmly on. While it reuses much of the original game’s structure and assets, Antheads introduces new story beats, locations, and a heavier emphasis on investigation.
